“We are thankful for the generosity of Gasbarre. It demonstrates their commitment to the communities we jointly operate in, but also reinforces the vital connection between local businesses and the well-being of others,” said Jim Prosper, executive director at Dickinson Center, Inc. “We’re grateful for their gift, since it will directly impact the quality of care that Dickinson provides.”

Dickinson Center is in the process of building a new two-story, 12,000-square-foot facility within the lots along Railroad and Market streets. Integration of all Dickinson Center’s St. Marys programs into one building will not only increase service accessibility, but also increase organizational effectiveness while also bringing a positive transformation to downtown St. Marys.

The project's anticipated timeline includes construction bid packets going out this November and a goal of groundbreaking in the spring of 2024. Funding for Dickinson Center’s project will be comprised of Redevelopment Assistance Capital Program (RACP) funding, a community-wide fundraising campaign, grants and Dickinson’s operating funds. Thus far, the organization received $2.5 million in state RACP funding and is currently in the process of applying for federal funding.

CEO Alex Gasbarre stated, “On behalf of the entire Gasbarre team, we are excited to be able to support the Dickinson Center expansion project in downtown St. Marys. It has always been important to our family and Gasbarre Products to support the communities in which we operate. The services that the Dickinson Center provides to the region are important to allow individuals and businesses to continue to thrive, now and in the future. We just completed our expansion project on Washington Street, and we are excited to see the Dickinson Center expand as well!”
