Dickinson Center’s (DCI) Employment Support Services (ESS) hosted their 11th annual National Disability Employment Awareness Month (NDEAM) celebration on October 21, 2025 with over 50 attendees at their headquarters in Ridgway. The DCI team held the event to build awareness about their consumers that have made strides toward reaching vocational goals.
DCI’s event was opened by Marsha Dippold, director of ESS, followed by speeches from several employees with the consumers they serve.
DCI’s board member John Schlimm was a guest speaker. And, a special appearance was made by SKILLSTORM. She stopped by to spread the word about ESS and the incredible superpower skills we all possess.
ESS strives to find jobs for people with disabilities that are best suited to the individual’s strengths in Elk, Cameron, McKean and Potter counties. Individuals are provided assistance through the entire job search process, from constructing resumes, practicing interview skills, and applying for jobs. The support continues after being hired until the employee, employer, and employment specialist are all confident that the job can be performed independently.
Announcements regarding presentations of the Joseph Goff Memorial Distinguished Worker Award and the Inclusive Employer of the Year Award will follow.
Thanks to everyone who showed up and made this annual event so much fun. We can't wait for next year!
