This week Dickinson Center, Inc. (DCI) wrapped up its Sixth Annual Pat Work Memorial Christmas Project. This project was named after Patricia “Pat” Work who was a therapist at Dickinson for many years prior to her passing in 2003. Pat worked with children and always made an extra effort at Christmas to make sure they had gifts.
DCI employees refer children to the project and an angel is placed on the tree for them. Employees, consumers, board members, and local community members select an angel from the tree and buy gifts for that child. This year, gifts were provided to 180 children in DCI’s primary service region (Elk, Cameron, Potter, & McKean counties).
In addition to internal support, this project had a tremendous amount of community support. Major supporters include Domtar Johnsonburg Mill, Advantage Sales, St. Marys Police Department, St. Marys Area Middle School Student Council, Anderson & Kime Employee Benefits, Northwest Savings Bank, St. Marys Auto Body, St. Marys Curves, and several individual community members.
Dickinson Center, Inc. is committed to the communities that we serve and strives to help individuals reach their full potential by providing a comprehensive spectrum of behavioral health, intellectual disability, and prevention services.
