Mental Health Specialist School-based Outpatient Program

Description of service provided:

The Mental Health Specialist School-based Outpatient Program offers students the opportunity to receive confidential mental health services within their school. Services may include individual therapy, family therapy, group therapy and/or "on-the-spot” interventions. The program provides counseling, support and skills to alleviate concerns. Students are see at a frequency determined by their specific clinical needs.

Cameron, Elk, McKean, Potter counties

Admission Criteria:

Parents/guardian of children under age 14 must participate in the intake process, including the development and continued review of the student’s 90-day treatment plan.

How to Access Service:

Referrals can be made by the student, the parent/guardian, the Student Assistance Program, the LIFE Program, a school counselor, other school professionals, other DCI providers or other behavioral health providers.

However, services are provided in the home, school, and community at times that best fit the family’s needs.

How Individuals Pay for the Service:

For therapy sessions where medical insurance is billed, a parent/guardian must sign a consent to bill the insurance company. Services may be provided regardless of the ability to pay.
